Dear Friends,

It’s that time again! Old Home Week is approaching fast and many preparations are being made to make it a success. As a fellow musician, we would like to invite you to play in the Old Home Week band this August. Because many of you have to travel quite a distance to be a part of the band, we will only hold three rehearsals. Since we were not able to secure a military band this year we are also performing a concert before the fireworks. It is fine if you cannot play all performances but please make sure your music does not stay at home.

Practice dates this year are Saturday, July 17that 5:00 and Wednesday, July 28that 5:00; both rehearsals will be in the Greencastle Middle School Band Room.

A dress rehearsal will then be held on Monday, August 2nd at 5:00 in the High School Auditorium. We understand that 5:00 is a difficult time to come to practice so please arrive when you can. Performance nights are before the OHW Pageant on Tuesday, August 3rd and Wednesday, August 4that 6:30 P.M. in the High

School Auditorium both nights. In addition to playing before the pageant, we will be performing before the fireworks on Kaley Field Friday, August 6th at 7:30.

Old Home Week is always an event that we look forward to because we have the opportunity to make music. We plan to play a variety of musical selections that include marches, patriotic songs and even show tunes. Many former students have contacted us in the past few weeks and asked if their children can play in the
band. Yes, yes, yes!!! However to avoid them being discouraged with the level of difficulty in sight-reading, it is best that they are at least in high school band. Thank you for considering being a part of this memorable event. Please e-mail or call the contacts below if you are interested in playing.
